On Monday, March 23, 2015 City of North Vancouver Council adopted a new Official Community Plan (OCP). During the multi-year City Shaping Process, there was a substantial amount of public input and discussion regarding the Moodyville area. In the end, the adopted OCP did include changes to land use designations for the neighbourhood, but it was determined that this area should be included under the classification of Development Permit Area (DPA).
Council subsequently identified the creation of design guidelines and new zoning regulations for Moodyville as a priority for 2015. Council has directed staff not to process any applications for development within the Land Use Designation Change Area (see map) until the design guidelines have been completed and go to Public Hearing which is anticipated to be in early 2016.
Commencing in June of 2015 with a “Guiding Principles” open house City Staff set to work on the creation of a Draft of the Design Guidelines which has now been made available HERE. The draft includes: A Moodyville study area map, a summary of zoning amendments, East 3rd Street Area Development Permit Guidelines and East 3rd Street future road and building interface concepts.
